Fees increased for major visas

This measure, aimed at accelerating certain immigration processes in exchange for an additional fee, responds to the need to adjust costs to the accumulated inflationary index from June 2021 to June 2023. With this update, the new fees will range between US$1,500 and US$2,805, representing a substantial increase with respect to the previous values.

This fee adjustment is based on an analysis conducted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), based on the Consumer Price Index to adequately reflect the inflationary reality of the aforementioned period. The DHS has stated that this update seeks, in addition to adjusting for inflation, "to use the revenue generated by the increase in the premium processing fee to expedite the processing of delayed applications," with the ultimate goal of improving the service offered to the immigration community, according to Telemundo network.
